What to Wear for a Cozy Boudoir Session

WONDERING WHAT TO WEAR FOR YOUR COZY BOUDOIR PHOTOGRAPHY SESSION?

The most common question I get from boudoir clients is "what should I wear?" This is a very broad question. When most people think about boudoir photos, lingerie immediately comes to mind. Lingerie is definitely a beautiful option, but not every woman chooses to go this route.

Boudoir photography is meant to represent you in your most intimate form. For a lot of us, we feel the most like ourselves when we're comfy and cozy! It is entirely possible to design a comfy and cozy boudoir look that is beautiful, feminine, and sensual. Here are a few of my tips for what to wear for a comfy and cozy boudoir photography session.

CHOOSE A COZY SWEATER

One of the best ways to style a cozy boudoir session, is to bring a sweater or cardigan. The biggest things to be aware of when choosing a sweater is the neckline and length. You want to choose a neckline that is wide enough for it to go off your shoulders. This gives us room to play and create a sensual vibe to your photos. I recommend choosing a length that comes no longer than halfway down your booty. This length is ideal for arranging the sweater without having a ton of extra fabric to work with.

WEAR OVERSIZED CLOTHING

Similar to choosing a sweater, bringing oversized clothing is a perfect idea for a cozy boudoir session. You should follow the same general guidelines for a wide (or deep) neckline and a hem that hits mid booty. You can bring anything from a cardigan, to a t-shirt to a flannel or other button down.

CONSIDER SHEER CLOTHING

Sheer clothing is always a fun idea to change things up. A sheer white or cream t-shirt can be an incredibly sexy look while still maintaining your cozy vibe!

CHOOSE THE RIGHT BOUDOIR ACCESSORIES

Don't forget to accessorize! Tall socks, a book, your favorite coffee cup, and/or jewelry are excellent ways to infuse some of your cozy personality.

DON'T FORGET ABOUT THE BOUDOIR DETAILS

When planning your cozy boudoir session it's important to pay attention to the details to pull the look together. I recommend wearing a pair of sexy panties or a body suit underneath your cozy sweater or shirt for an alluring look.

If you want more coverage up top, a bralette or lacy bra can be the prefect thing to wear underneath.

You'll also want to be aware of your color scheme. When in doubt, I recommend sticking to neutrals like creams, blacks, grays, & blushes. If there's a color that you look incredible in, that can also be an excellent choice for your outfit.

Don't forget to consider whether you'd like to have your nails done. This can really polish up your cozy look!
