THE ROSEWOOD BOUDOIR APPROACH TO EDITING BOUDOIR PHOTOS
"Can you photoshop me skinny?"
While I understand where women are coming from in asking, this question breaks my heart.
I promise, you don't need to be photoshopped or overly edited to look beautiful in your boudoir photos.
That core belief is at the root of my approach to boudoir photography.
EVERY WOMAN HAS INSECURITIES
In my experience, every woman, thin or curvy, is going to have something she wishes she could change about her body.
For me, I've never liked my nose and I wish my frame was just a bit taller and leaner.
However, there are also things I used to dislike about my body that I have learned to love.
For example, I am rather flat chested. This used to be a source of insecurity, but now it's actually one of my favorite things about my body.
Boudoir is meant to show off the things about your body that you love while simultaneously helping you to accept and maybe even appreciate those things you'd like to change.
YOU WILL LOVE YOURSELF IN YOUR BOUDOIR PHOTOS
There are a few things I do to help ensure you love your images.
I send out a questionnaire before your session.
One of the most important questions on there is "what do you love about your body" and "what would you like to de-emphasize in your photos".
This helps me get to know your own opinions on your body before the session. This way I can be aware of the things you do and don't like and tailor your session to you.
Once I know your likes and dislikes, I know which poses you will love. With a combination of good posing and lighting, your images will be very flattering and catered to your preferences.
I also have a show as we go policy.
During your session, I tend to show a fair amount of images on the back of my camera. This helps us work together to catch and correct anything you may not love in real time! If there's ever a pose you aren't loving, just let me know and I won't even include it in your final gallery.
After your session, I select the best photos from your session to edit. If there were any you weren't feeling during your session, I'll skip those and move on.
During the editing process, I make the boudoir photos come alive.
My boudoir editing style is very soft and natural. I do a light skin smoothing on the photos, but the goal is for the final images to look and feel like you! I don't remove any birthmarks, only temporary blemishes.
