I'll give you a hint: the sexiest thing you can wear for your boudoir session is not a lacy bodysuit (although I do love and recommend those) and it's not another type of skimpy lingerie...
The sexiest thing you can wear for your boudoir session is confidence.
I'll admit, it does sound a tad cheesy, but it's 100% true. When you look and feel confident, that translates unbelievably clearly into your photos.
Now, as your boudoir photographer, most of the responsibility for helping you look and feel confident falls on me! I work hard to help you feel confident and beautiful during your session.
I send plenty of information about how to prepare for your session, I provide hair and makeup with an amazing stylist, and I start your session with poses that will have you feeling beautiful and confident within minutes of your session!
That being said, there are some things you can do as well to help you look and feel confident for your boudoir session!
HOW TO LOOK AND FEEL CONFIDENT FOR YOUR SESSION
WATCH YOUR BODY LANGUAGE
Your body language can significantly influence your confidence. The good news is, you can hack this system.
Keep an eye on your body language and make sure you're doing things like standing up straight, keeping your posture open (rather than closed off), and avoiding nervous habits like playing with your hair or nails.
When your body language exudes confidence, it can actually trick your brain into feeling more confident.
FULLY PREPARE FOR YOUR SESSION
One of the best ways to reduce the nerves and get yourself feeling confident before your session is spending some time preparing.

This page goes over everything you need to know about your session including how to prepare, what to wear, and even whether you should get a spray tan before your session. The goal is for this page to answer all the questions you may have and some questions you hadn't even thought of!

CHOOSE OUTFITS YOU FEEL GOOD IN
My prep page will tell you what I recommend bringing. The cliff notes are bodysuits/teddies and bra/panty sets. Look for things that provide the appropriate level of support, flatter your natural waist, and have cheeky or thong cuts.
Don't be afraid to throw in something cozy like a sweater, a robe, or your man's shirt.
I recommend these items because they flatter most body types, they don't hide your curves, and they tend to photograph really well.
At the end of the day, the most important thing is that you come in outfits that you look and feel good in. If you don't love the outfit before you come to my studio, you won't love it in your photos. It's better to have fewer outfits than to include outfits you don't love or that you're on the fence about.
LET YOUR FRIENDS ENCOURAGE YOU BEFORE YOUR SESSION
If you're feeling nervous and need someone in your corner to boost your confidence before your session, call your best girl friend. She'll be the perfect person to listen to your worries and provide the encouragement you need to feel confident before your session!

Your boudoir photographer knows how to pose and light your body to be sure you look amazing in your photos. Many boudoir photographers (including me!) will even show you a few images on the back of the camera as they go. That way you can see how good you look in real time which will serve to boost your confidence so you look even better as the session goes along!
