WHAT ARE IMPLIED NUDE BOUDOIR PHOTOS? DO YOU WANT THEM?
In short, implied nude boudoir photos are photos where the subject appears to be wearing nothing, but no private parts are actually shown. The not showing private parts is what separates implied nude from fully nude.
What I love about implied nude boudoir photography is the way it celebrates and highlights the female form without any distractions. Your feminine form is one of the most beautiful things in creation. I love getting to capture it for you and your spouse in such an artistic and beautiful way.
When you choose to do implied nude photos, there's no lingerie, outfits, or even outright nudity to distract from YOU. You are the subject of the photos in a raw, intimate, and beautiful way.
There are various ways of covering your intimate bits in implied nude boudoir photos. We can use a bedsheet, your hair, your hands, your arms, or even just strategic posing so that nothing is actually shown.
I begin sessions with whichever of your outfits offers the most coverage and then move to the outfits with the least coverage towards the end of your session. This is to help you ease into the session and get comfortable as we go!
Naturally, implied nude photography would go at the end of your session if you're comfortable with it!
In some cases, you don't even have to be fully naked for implied nude boudoir photography. If we're working with a bedsheet, you can have on your underwear and/or a strapless bra or nipple covers - depending on how much you want to cover vs how much you want to show.
The photo below was actually done with a stretchy thong pulled up really high on her waist and nippies on her chest. No photoshop or full nudity required.
On the flip side, you are also welcome to get completely naked and walk around in just your birthday suit during the implied nude section of your boudoir session if you'd prefer. I know it seems awkward now, but I promise, I don't make it weird!
If you'd like a little more privacy while you're completely naked, I've got a sheet on hand you can cover with between poses. I'm also happy to look away while you drop the sheet and get into a pose.
Your comfort is the most important thing!
SHOULD YOU INCLUDE IMPLIED NUDE PHOTOGRAPHY IN YOUR BOUDOIR SESSION?
Ultimately, it's up to you and your comfort level. There's no judgement here either way! It all comes down to what you like and what you want out of your session.
One of the questions on your pre-session questionnaire will ask about your expected comfort level and whether you expect to want implied nude photos. Your answer to this question gets us on the same page with your expected preference before your session.
If you aren't sure about implied nude photos before your session, don't worry! We don't have to include them.
Once you're in the middle of your session, if you're feeling comfortable and you'd like some after all, we can still do it!
Your session is about showcasing you and your photos should reflect your preferences and your comfort level.
